Im Grenzland (In the borderland)
by and with Delschad Numan Khorschidby and with Delschad Numan Khorschid
Delschad Numan Khorshid has been a member of the Residenztheater ensemble for six years, performing in numerous productions. But his artistic practice extends far beyond the stage: he is also a photographer and writer, with work featured in exhibitions and published in books. Most recently, his intricately designed volume «Nirgendwo ist mein Zuhause» (Nowhere Is My Home) was released by Schillo Verlag, combining poetry, prose, and photography.
In this collection, Delschad Numan Khorshid offers poetic reflections on his background as a member of the Iraqi Kurdish minority near the Iranian border – a community subjected to political persecution. At the age of 17, he began a life-threatening, two-year journey of escape that eventually brought him to Munich, and later to Berlin, over twenty years ago. Accompanying him every step of the way: an unshakable will to survive and a deep, unrelenting drive to create.
Now, for the first time at the Residenztheater, he will read from his writings and offer a glimpse into his artistic world.
