Hong-Do Lee

Hong-Do Lee (b. 1992, Republic of Korea) is a Seoul-based playwright. He is the author of eight full-length plays and performance pieces including ≪Autobiography of Hongdo Lee(My Life in Art)≫(58th Baeksang Arts Awards Finalist for Young Theatre Artists, 21th Daesan Literary Awards Finalist for Drama), ≪American Theater/Seoul Chorus≫, ≪2032 Angels in America≫, ≪Beckett Montage≫, and ≪Gumisik≫. He is the winner of 2022 13th Doosan Artist Award for Performing Arts, 2020 Hankook Ilbo(Korea Times) New Writers Contest for Drama and 2018 14th Seoul Performing Arts Festival(SPAF) Award for the Young Critic, among others.

In 2024/25 Hong-Do Lee will be a WELT/BÜHNE resident at the Residenztheater.
