Santiago Blaum
Santiago Blaum wurde in Buenos Aires geboren und studierte dort Literatur, Klavier und Komposition, Operngesang und Theaterimprovisation. Zusammen mit Regisseur Pablo Maritano gründete er die Gruppe Torquato Tasso Beauty Performer (Buenos Aires 2000-2003), bei der er Regie führte und selber spielte. Seit 2004 arbeitet er als Musikalischer Leiter und Komponist in Berlin mit verschiedenen Gruppen u.a mit She She Pop und Constanza Macras/Dorky Park. Seit 2010 leitete er als Regisseur und Komponist mehrere freie Musiktheaterproduktionen, die im HAU und in den Sophiensälen in Berlin uraufgeführt wurden. Seit 2018 tritt er auch mit seinem Musikprojekt Señorita auf, das lateinamerikanische Musik mit experimentellem Elektro-Pop verbindet.
2023 leitete er seine jüngste Musiktheaterproduktion «Schweigt Stille/Sober up!» (nach Bachs Kafeekantate) mit Aufführungen am Schauspiel Leipzig, Radialsystem-Berlin und FFT-Düsseldorf.
Seine erste Zusammenarbeit mit Amir Reza Koohestani hatte Blaum bei «Professor Bernhardi» 2022 am Theater Freiburg.

You are how you speak. Professor of Phonetics Higgins makes a bet with his friend Pickering that he can turn the energetic Eliza Doolittle, who sells flowers in the street to make ends meet and speaks the broadest dialect, into an upper-class lady with immaculate articulation. Eliza proves to be a disciplined and talented pupil who manages to pass the test of entering high society. Higgins attributes this success to his own genius and automatically lays claim to her. He fails to notice that his teaching has helped Eliza to become a self-aware and thoughtful woman who is not only capable of making her own decisions but of acting on them too.
