Welt/Bühne - Short Circuit

Ein Publikumshit aus Israel, erst- und einmalig in München zu sehen: Die Autorin Noa Lazar-Keinan erzählt darin lebensnah, in pointierten Dialogen und mit viel Humor von der Überforderung einer ganz normalen Familie.

Neta und David sind ein modernes Ehepaar, beide berufstätig, zwei Kinder. Neta ist Ernährungsberaterin und David hat als Kinderbuchautor den «Super-Doktor» erfunden, der immer zur Stelle ist, wenn es eine Krise gibt. Ihr kleiner Sohn Itamar ist dessen größter Fan und legt das passende Kostüm niemals ab. Als bei ihm eine autistische Störung diagnostiziert wird, wird das für die ganze Familie zur Belastungsprobe.

In der Inszenierung des Beer Sheva Theatres – Beer Sheva ist seit Kurzem die Partnerstadt von München – übernehmen die Schauspieler*innen Efrat Miriam Arnon und Shmuel Shulman nicht nur die Rollen von Neta und David, sondern beziehen das Publikum in ihre Geschichte ein – für die direkten Kommunikation spielen sie das Stück in München nicht wie in Israel auf Hebräisch, sondern auf Englisch.

Noa Lazar-Keinan schrieb «Short Circuit - Ketzer» unter anderem während ihrer Residenz im Frühjahr 2022 am Residenztheater.

A hit play from Israel, now in Munich for the first and only time: playwright Noa Lazar-Keinan uses snappy dialogue and a strong sense of humour to describe the trials and tribulations of a perfectly normal family.

Neta and David are a modern married couple: they both work and have two children. Neta is a nutritionist and David is a writer of children’s books who has created «Super Doctor», who always turns up whenever there is a crisis. Their little boy Itamar is his biggest fan and never takes off his costume. When Itamar is diagnosed with an autistic disorder, this becomes a severe test for the whole family.

In the production by the Beer-Sheva Theatre – Beer-Sheva recently became one of Munich’s twin cities – the actors Efrat Miriam Arnon and Shmuel Shulman not only play the roles of Neta and David, but also involve the audience in their story. In order to communicate directly, in Munich they will perform the play in English rather than in Hebrew, which is used for the performances in Israel.
