A solo evening by and with Mareike BeykirchA solo evening by and with Mareike Beykirch
No break
Mareike Beykirch embarks on a highly personal space mission to her own past. Inspired by the texts of the French writer Édouard Louis she explores a family constellation and follows her own pathway from Vorharz via various stops at theatres across Germany to Munich afresh – using a detective’s eye for sociology, a wide range of theatrical techniques and unsparing honestly. Her personal life contains a significant political question: how much does society determine who we want to become? Who receives which opportunities in unified Germany? And which faultlines still determine the relationship between East and West 30 years after reunification?
Mareike Beykirch was born in Quedlinburg in 1986 and after training as an actor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater «Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy» in Leipzig, was a member of acting companies at the Centraltheater Leipzig, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin. At the Residenztheater she can be seen in «Olympiapark in the Dark» and «Cassandra/Prometheus: Right to the World».
